Field Trip to Forest Department

The main objective of conducting a field trip for students is to reinforce experimental and contextual learning. Grade VIII students of Vydehi School of Excellence visited Forest Department, Whitefield on 07th July 2017.

Field trips are ways to enhance whatever the students learn in class by making real world connections. This trip gave an opportunity to students to observe a particular environment that gave them first-hand experience of what they learned. In addition, students achieve a higher level of critical thinking when they evaluate their own learning compared with what they are exposed to, and they are able to modify their knowledge based on their personal experiences. The trip also offered students and teachers the opportunity to interact outside of the classroom. It helped the students to bond with each other and also enhanced their social skills and life skills. The main objective of this trip was to get a clear picture of different stages of growth of plants in the nurseries. All the students were excited to explore the forest. They were awestruck by the different types of trees. They enjoyed a lot and had a wonderful day. The discipline was on its high and the students made themselves a part of the training program over there.
