Date: 14 November 2025 | Occasion: Children’s Day
Guest Speaker: Dr. Dhananjaya M. S., Associate Professor – Endocrinology
Audience: Grades 6 & 7
On the special occasion of Children’s Day, our Grade 6 and 7 students had the wonderful opportunity to attend an important awareness session on Childhood Obesity and Diabetes. The session was led by our esteemed guest speaker, Dr Dhananjaya M. S., Associate Professor in the Department of Endocrinology at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Bengaluru.
Dr. Dhananjaya, a highly respected expert in the field of endocrinology – the branch of medicine that studies hormones and how they regulate growth, energy, and health, shared his deep knowledge and experience with the students.
Through simple explanations and relatable examples, he helped out students understand how everyday choices – what we eat, how much we move, and how we care for our bodies – can greatly influence our well-being. The discussion also highlighted the rising concerns of childhood obesity and diabetes and the importance of building healthy habits early in life.
The session offered valuable insights into how our bodies work and reminded students that small, mindful steps taken today can lead to a healthier, happier tomorrow. At Vydehi, we believe that empowering children with the right knowledge is the first step towards nurturing strong, confident, and health-conscious individuals.
