Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world and makes familiar objects be as if they were not familiar. Poetry is what makes you laugh, cry, prickle, be silent and make our toenails twinkle. It gives our imagination wings to fly. It makes our heart fill with bliss and positivity. An Inter school competition was organized by Gopalan International School. Vydehi School participated in Calliope- a poetry writing competition on the theme Haiku Poetry. Haiku poetry is a Japanese poetic form that consists of three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second line and five in the third. The judgement was done on the basis of creativity, originality and format. The students participated with gusto and vivacity and not to mention that the vydehians never fail to make us proud. Joana Verghese of Grade 8 secured the second position. Acclamation and glory goes to the winner.
