Republic Day Celebrations in Vydehi Primary School witnessed most students of Vydehi School of Excellence wear Gandhi Topi that added a white color tone to the whole assembly section.  Gandhi Topi is an indicative of the Swadeshi Movement happened in India, in the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi himself. In Swadeshi movement, Gandhiji and his followers boycotted foreign goods and In Gandhiji’s opinion the white Topi was light and elegant and it gradually evolved as a symbol of India and nationalism.  To remind those times and passion of independence struggle, many of our students also wore Indian clothes such as Kurta and Pyjama.

To wear such ethnic outfits was the idea of teachers in VSE as it will help to light up the memory of our great freedom fighters. The preamble of our Constitution was read out by the students.  Many children also wore outfits that had Indian flag’s tri-color on them. They also wore badges on their outfits with labels such as ‘justice, ‘liberty’ and ‘fraternity’ imprinted on them. These concepts echoed the slogans of our independence struggle. The assembly concluded with a beautiful song “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara” sung by the students.  Vydehi School of Excellence believes in reminding the future generations of the struggles their ancestors had gone through to make our country a free paradise. Such school activities help to create awareness about our great freedom struggle in new generation.It is very important for the future generation to know the past because it enlightens them to act responsibly and stand for national causes.

The tiny tots of the school made a sterling display of talent by dancing to a Japanese song tune while Goan dance by Nursery children added to the fervour of the evening. The whole event was a wonderful fusion of eastern & western cultures through a harmonious blend of rhythm & dance.

The most riveting performance was the dance drama based on the history of Karnataka . The drama exuded opulence and grandeur of Hoysala dynasty, which took the audience to a different time zone. The program reached an expected joyful climax with the grand finale and become a sweet memory to cherish for everyone.

It was a sunny day in ECC Garden and children were on cloud nine once they reached the garden because it was a very beautiful place where cute bunnies were playing. Teachers who accompanied the students supervised the whole program and took care of them. After playing for a while, kindergarten kids had some great time relaxing under the cool shadows of trees. In the garden, teachers made the kids observe various types of trees and flowers. Among all those good things out there in the garden, Rabbits were the biggest attraction for the kids.

This entire process could stretch through several months from October to February in majority of the cases. Stalls were put up by participating schools, which demonstrated what they have to offer – whether it is curricula or facilities or extra-curricular activities – so as to provide the right platform for parents to make an informed choice. It provided a one stop solution for parents looking for schools as pre-school to Class -12, schools came under one roof with a free entry for all.

The stood round the flag pole d class wise and the teachers stood behind them. On the Principal’s request, the founder of the school came forward to perform the flag-hoisting ceremony. The students stood in attention and saluted the flag. After the flag hoisting ceremony the national anthem was sung. The flag hoisting ceremony came to a close with a few speeches delivered by the staff and the manager. The speeches highlighted the importance of this day and urged the students to become responsible citizens and prepare themselves to serve the nation as good leader, administrator, engineer, doctors etc.

The speakers urged the students to remember the sacrifices of the patriots and martyrs who laid down their lives in the freedom struggle and to pay tributes to those who fought to free their motherland from the clutches of foreign rule. It was a rich learning experience for the students of Vydehi School Of Excellence who cherished the value of freedom and patriotism. The students of the school presented a colorful cultural programme like patriotic songs, portraying the characters of our leaders and many more. Sweets and snacks were distributed amongst the students.

Then they saw balls in a spiral cage going which demonstrated how one form of energy gets converted into another. The students thoroughly enjoyed playing with the balls. There was a lift in which the balls would come and stop. They moved a handle round and round and the balls were lifted to the top. From the top the balls rolled again, sometimes the ball stopped in the middle of the cage and then another ball would come from behind and hit it. Then the two balls would move again.

From there they moved to the Science section which provided a whole lot of knowledge coupled with fun. Here they saw a science model in which a river was flowing down to a village. The speed of the water has been used to move a hammer that would hit a red hot iron and help an iron-smith. Then they went to the first floor and there they saw the model of a plane in which the Wright brothers made their first flight. That plane looked very light. Then came the most fun part, they saw a plate on which some fruits and vegetables with a man’s head was kept. They were frightened and suddenly that head disappeared and now on that plate there was another head, then they realized that they were in the magic world section of the museum. One by one all of them tried putting their heads on the plate which was captured in pictures shown below.

Vydehi School Coloring Competition

The first coloring competition of the year was held in Vydehi School of Excellence in June which witnessed some budding artist in full form .Their imaginative skills transformed the black and white sheets to amazing colorful pictures. Coloring as an art is a way of expressing emotions in a creative manner.
